At Lincoln Family Medicine Center, we welcome patients with Medicare insurance: original Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans. Our experienced primary care providers take the time to help you understand and make the most of the benefits available to you, ensuring nothing important is missed.

As you get older, regular check-ups and preventive screenings become even more important. One benefit of an annual wellness visit is that there is no cost and no copay to Medicare patients. These visits are focused on prevention, ensure individuals are aging safely, and allow us to intervene early on with health conditions before treatment is needed.

Preventive services commonly covered by Medicare:

• Annual wellness visits

• Mammograms

• Vaccines (COVID-19, Flu, Hepatitis B, Pneumococcal)

• Depression and alcohol misuse screenings

• Bone density testing, every 2 years

• Heart health screenings and counseling

• Some cancer screenings

Medicare also looks at opportunities to partner with your family doctor on both chronic and acute conditions. For example, if your provider identifies certain risk factors that you have, Medicare may cover services for:

• Glaucoma

• Lung cancer 

• Diabetes prevention programs

• Obesity counseling
