Spencer Anderson, DO
Dr. Spencer Anderson’s passion for family medicine was inspired by physicians who did more than just care for him early on. From school and sports to knowing his family members, those doctors were invested in his life beyond appointments. Watching how they cared for patients and the community shaped his understanding of what it means to be an impactful physician.
Originally from Holdrege, Nebraska, Dr. Anderson earned degrees in Biology and Philosophy/Religion from Nebraska Wesleyan University before attending medical school at Kansas City University, where he received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. He chose family medicine because it allows him to care for patients through every stage of life while forming lasting relationships rooted in trust and continuity of care. He is especially interested in rural medicine and values the opportunity to practice broadly while becoming a valued partner in his community.
For his residency training, Dr. Anderson chose the Lincoln Family Medicine Residency Program because of its unique unopposed training structure and the genuine camaraderie he experienced there. He noticed how inclusive, supportive, and invested the faculty and residents were in him, both professionally and personally. For him, the culture felt more like family than a training program.
Dr. Anderson enjoys reading fantasy and mystery/thriller novels, playing tennis, working out, woodworking and carpentry projects, watching movies, and spending time with family, friends, and his Goldendoodle, Sawyer. His nieces and nephews are a huge part of his life and what matters most to him.
