Zach Keegan, DO

For Dr. Zach Keegan, family medicine is about building meaningful relationships and being present for patients during some of their most vulnerable moments. He was inspired to pursue medicine after witnessing the compassionate care a physician provided to his stepmother near the end of her life. Seeing the comfort and reassurance the physician brought to his family left a lasting impression and ultimately shaped the kind of doctor he wants to become.

Dr. Keegan earned his degree in Biology from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln before attending Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. He likes the continuity of care family medicine offers and the ability to form long-term relationships with patients and their families. For him, supporting and caring for people through all stages of life is one of medicine's most rewarding aspects.

Lincoln Family Medicine Residency Program stood out to Dr. Keegan because of its strong sense of community, supportive culture, and emphasis on helping residents become confident, independent physicians. He also appreciated the advantages of training in an unopposed program, where residents gain greater autonomy and broad exposure across various clinical settings while still benefiting from dedicated mentorship and guidance.

From Indian Trail, North Carolina, Dr. Keegan enjoys spending time with his wife, Taylor, their son, Hudson, and their pets, Luna and Rosie. Outside of medicine, he enjoys watching Husker sports, cooking, tackling the daily Wordle, and making memories with his family.
