Klayton Nordeen, DO
Becoming a physician wasn't always the original plan for Dr. Klayton Nordeen. Initially, he considered a career in physical therapy, but encouragement from close friends pursuing medicine, combined with success in his science courses, helped him realize he had both the interest and ability to become a physician himself. Dr. Nordeen earned degrees in Biology and Chemistry from Morningside University before attending A. T. Still University, where he received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.
Rather than focusing on a single specialty area, Dr. Nordeen became interested in Family Medicine because it allows him to apply the broad range of knowledge and skills gained throughout medical training while caring for patients at all stages of life. He values the wide variety of patients and conditions that Family Medicine offers.
Dr. Nordeen chose the Lincoln Family Medicine Residency Program because of its strong reputation, unopposed training structure, and commitment to full-scope medicine. Staying in his home state was also important to him. He appreciates the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop procedural skills that allow family physicians to provide comprehensive care in various settings.
From Alliance, Nebraska, Dr. Nordeen enjoys golfing, fishing, hunting, lifting, video games, and following nearly every sport. A former collegiate football player, he was also part of an NAIA National Championship team during his time at Morningside.
